Learn to Paddle. Train to Lead.
ACA Instructor Training and Advanced Paddlesports Education at Myers Park
Ready to take your paddling further? Paddle-N-More offers ACA Instructor Certification training, instructor development, and advanced paddlesports education led by ACA Certified Instructors and Instructor Trainers.
ACA Instructor Certification trainings vary by level. Level 2 Instructor Certifications are full four-day courses, and participants must attend all four days. Level 1 Instructor Certifications are shorter and structured differently.

Before You Register
Participation in an ACA Instructor Certification course does not guarantee certification. Instructor candidates must demonstrate the required paddling, teaching, group management, safety, rescue, and leadership competencies for the certification level.
ACA instructor candidates are also expected to review the official ACA Instructor Criteria for their discipline and level before registering. These criteria outline the skills, knowledge, teaching expectations, and performance standards used during evaluation.
Prospective ACA instructors should also be prepared to meet ACA participation and certification requirements, including ACA membership and applicable SEIC registration requirements. ACA states that prospective instructors should join as an Individual member and pay SEIC dues, with membership transitioned after successful completion of certification requirements.
What to Expect
ACA Instructor Certification courses include both development and evaluation. Candidates should arrive prepared to paddle, teach, receive feedback, and demonstrate skills at a consistent, instructor-level standard.
To become an ACA Instructor, candidates must participate in an Instructor Development Workshop and pass an Instructor Certification Exam, or complete both through an Instructor Certification Workshop. Candidates must also demonstrate effective course management, positive interpersonal skills, general knowledge of ACA programs, and the ability to perform and teach the required material in the appropriate venue.
