Paddle-N-More is seeking employees to fill several positions for the summer 2022 season. At Paddle-N-More, we offer rentals, lessons, guided trips, and kids camps at our Myers Park (Lansing, NY), Taughannock Falls (Trumansburg, NY), and Stewart Park (Ithaca) locations. We specialize in kayaking, canoeing, stand-up paddleboarding and windsurfing (Myers Park location). See below for more information pertaining to specific positions. Lead Rental Shop Employee
The Lead Rental Shop Employee position is full-time or part-time seasonal position through PnM. Qualified individuals are shift supervisors who help manage the daily tasks of each rental shop to ensure high customer satisfaction. Responsibilities include working with the operations manager to ensure daily tasks are taken care of, risk management is in place, and proper staff are in place each day. Duties include supervising and managing rental shop employees, overseeing and managing the rental process, ensuring customer service standards are achieved, answering customer phone calls, loading and unloading of boats off storage racks and boat trailers, showing clients basic paddling techniques, and cleaning and maintaining the watercraft and paddleshops. We have several lead rental shop employee positions available at all three locations. Must be flexible, work weekends and major holidays. Pay rate starts at $15 an hour.
Rental Shop Employee
The Rental Shop Employee is a part-time seasonal position through PnM. Qualified individuals take customers through the rental process of standup paddleboards, kayaks, canoes and other important gear. Duties include conducting the rental process with customers, loading and unloading of boats off storage racks and boat trailers, showing clients basic paddling techniques, and cleaning and maintaining the watercraft and paddleshops. Rental shop employees will assist with answering customer calls and will demonstrate high standards of customer care. We have several part-time rental shop employee positions available at all three locations. Must be flexible, work weekends and major holidays. Pay rate starts at minimum wage.
Standup Paddleboard and Kayak Guides and Instructors
Our standup paddleboard and kayak guide and instructor positions are part-time. Applicants should have strong customer service skills and ethics. Must have and/or be willing to acquire a Red Cross CPR and first aid certificate before hire. Weekends a must. Must be able to pick up and pull kayaks. Must have extensive knowledge of the local wildlife, and knowledge of the Finger Lakes region. A naturalist or ecology background preferred. Must be flexible, have high customer service standards, work weekends and major holidays. American Canoe Association Certifications available to those interested. Pay rate starts at $16 an hour.
Requirements: Applicants must be polite, responsible, friendly, hard-working, enjoy working outdoors, and able to lift 40+ pounds. Part-time positions are available May through September. Must be sixteen years of age. High school and college students interested in outdoor work are encouraged to apply.
