Jennifer Wells Miller
Founder and Owner
Jennifer is an outdoor recreational enthusiast who loves being outdoors. Her passion for the environment and thirst for the outdoors motivated her to change careers at the age of 35 and start Paddle-N-More. Jennifer has a B.A. in Communication Studies and an M.S. in Recreation with a focus in Outdoor and Environmental Education. Jennifer is an American Canoe Association and PaddleFit instructor. Her certifications qualify her to teach skills in standup paddleboarding, kayaking and canoeing. Because she recognizes the need to provide safe learning environments for her customers, she believes in continuing education through her instructor certification program. On top of her American Canoe Association Instructor certifications, she holds her Wilderness First Responder through SOLO and is currently working to obtain her American Canoe Association Instructor Trainer certification for standup paddleboarding. She wants to share her passion and help other instructors and water-sports leaders develop their own outdoor teaching style and skills.
Although, Paddle-N-More is her passion, Jennifer also teaches and leads outdoor excursions and adventures, such as backpacking and mountain biking. She loves to be outdoors and if the wind conditions are not right for paddling, you’ll often see her kiteboarding. In the off-season, if she’s not traveling or skiing, you can find her teaching at future recreation professionals at SUNY Cortland and Ithaca College as an adjunct professor where she enjoys teaching and sharing her knowledge and professional experience to future recreational professionals and leaders.
Co-Owner & Kite Instructor
When Steven started to tire of the 9 to 5 lifestyle, he left his career as a manufacturing engineer and adopted the “vagabond” lifestyle. Although, he calls the Finger Lakes region his home, Steven often traveled and found more time to enjoy his outdoor hobbies. His love for watersports lead him to the world of kiteboarding. Today, Steven is one of the handful of highly skilled kiteboarders in the Finger Lakes region and he has taught many the skill of kiteboarding. Because he enjoys teaching others the sport of kiteboarding and recognizes the need for high-quality instruction. Steven teamed up with Paddle-N-More to develop Kite Cayuga, an IKO affiliated kiteboarding school. When teaching, Steven recognizes the need for safety because the sport of kiteboarding can be difficult and dangerous. Because his teaching philosophy focuses on safety first, he obtained his Instructor Level 1 IKO Certification in April of 2016.
